Émile-Robert Blanchet (17 July in Lausanne, Switzerland – 27 March in Pully, Switzerland)[1] was a French-speaking Swiss pianist, composer and mountaineer.[2]

Life

He was taught by his father, the organist of a cathedral in Lausanne, Charles Blanchet, a pupil of Ignaz Moscheles, and Hauptmann.[3] Later he attended Cologne Conservatory and was a pupil of Busoni in Weimar and Berlin.[3][4] Later he was professor of piano , then director of the Lausanne Conservatory.[5] He continued teaching there until
