“#Zeldadoesntevenknow” is the newest hashtag trending on Twitter after former personal assistant to Nelson Mandela, Zelda la Grange, posted a number of controversial Twitter comments on Saturday.
La Grange took to social media to criticise President Jacob Zuma’s comments that the country’s problems started when Jan van Riebeeck arrived at the cape.
Zuma had made these statements at the African National Congress’s 103rd birthday celebrations in Cape Town last week.
Among several racially motivated tweets she posted, La Grange said Zuma made white people feel unwelcome in South Africa, but considered their tax money good enough for the multimillion rand upgrades at his private Nkandla home in Kwazulu-Natal.
La Grange revealed her desires to approach French President Francois Hollande for a position because “the organisation that praises Zimbabwean president, Robert Mugabe but condemns former president FWDe Klerk, doesn’t want us in SA”.
